Design of a 60 pages book in Japanese and English for potential investors, showcasing the planned development of a Japanese inspired city quarter in Berlin.There is a Japanese expression that fascinates Germans: shin-rin-yoku. We translate it to something like „bathing in forest air“.
While in Germany we know that breathing forest air is healthy, the idea of bathing in it, immersing oneself into it, is novel.We imagine NION to be a place in Berlin where visitors can bathe in Japanese culture.
Having run a design studio in Tokyo for several years, and with both experience and a keen interest in Japanese design and culture, less rain supports “Japan Town Berlin” with a new naming, branding and design.
